Shifting through gears test problem

2005 KDX 220. After building the bottom end and putting cases back together, I was trying to go through the shift pattern but could only go like 2 shifts before it would not keep shifting. Is this normal or do I have a problem? Thanks for your time.

Are you wiggling the front sprocket back and forth?

Yup. You gotta rotate the sprocket for the trans to continue shifting.
