1. What is the OEM stator watt output on these things? Curious for headlight/tail light upgrades.
2. If you were to delete lighting all together, would it harm the stator? I know that tends to be the case on my DRZ. If you can't discharge enough electricity, the stator can burn up.

Re: 2001 KDX200 stator questions
About 40 as Jason said, and no, eliminating the lighting wont burn up the stator. I haven't run lighting on my 220 for years and not a single stator problem, and I even rewound mine for higher output around 70W (intending to use lighting but haven't gotten around to it).
Rewinding for more output is very simple and documented on this sight. Stock stator works fine with LED lighting as well. (you will get some flicker since the output is AC

I don't know what your end goal is, but here is one commercially available option.
http://www.rickystator.com/product/stat ... coil-89-on
It says KDX220R, but it is for 1989 and newer KDX200 / KDX220R / KDX250.
If any on an "A" or "C" is reading, they have options for those as well.

the drz stator is a doozy.... not enough (cool!) oil flowing over it, not enough output, not enough insulation, etc ...
the kdx lighting coil is super easy to upgrade, just rewind it at home in an hour or two. it doesn't care if you toss lights or not.

Re: 2001 KDX200 stator questions
So you have 2 coils in your KDX, one for the ignition and one for the lighting. You could remove the lighting coil altogether and the ignition coil will still function.
