02 220 dies when hot

Have a 02 220 that seems to die when it gets hot for no reason. Doesnt seem to matter if its wide open or at an idle. When it dies It can be kicked a few times and it starts up and then can go back riding. Spark plug has been changed. Bike is bone stock. Any suggestions where to start?

Could be many things. You need spark, air and fuel. Could be you have a fuel delivery issue that slowly drains the bowl faster than it can refill, and once it dies the bowl has a chance to refill. Could be a faulty CDI or coil that is failing at temperature. I would first make sure all the grounds are good and clean. Same with all your electrical connections. Pull the carb and give it a good cleaning. This is one of those problems where you want to change just one thing at a time and retest.
