Im in the process of doing the top end on my bike. The cylinder is off to millennium for replate .while im waiting did a good carb cleaning , also Added some Boyesen power reeds .My question isnt so much about the reeds ,But the white plastic block in the reed cage. Looking at it ,makes me think its restrictive and should i take it out ? But its in there for a reason. Any thoughts guys?

How did you clean the carb? Did you dip it in Berryman's or similar?

This is a pretty low hour bike to begin with. really was just make sure if any thing needed replaced . the floats are right, no adjustment ,jets clear , new top cover gasket .bowl was clean .new vent lines .

I always recomend Berryman's products. Thier carb cleaner is still the best, even after they changed the recipe.

Your advice would be quite different than the information Kawasaki sent to dealers years ago on the carbs used on bikes such as 1988+ KDX models. It makes the hidden jet block gasket swell. There are a good bit of posts on here from people who had swollen gaskets.

I have read about swollen gaskets. Never had a problem with Berryman's. I have always used the spray. Make sure to wear safety glasses.

DIP, not spray

Depends on how long the DIP or soak .kerosene will swell rubber parts as well as will rubbing alcohol . it takes a bit of time for the parts to actually swell. More worried about using chemicals that would make the rubber parts brittle and crack.
