Ebay radiators (new) - Good, Bad or Ugly.

Post by Davenay67 »

Looking at Ebay for replacement radiators for my H series, saw nothing OEM but plenty of new sets around the $80. These are either bargains compared to OEM, or are junk. So, are they any good or should I keep hunting for genuine Kawasaki parts?

I don't know from first hand experience, but a friend bought a pair for his KTM. He said they worked fine but may be made out of thinner or softer aluminum because they didn't stand up to abuse like OEM, at least that was his experience. I busted both of mine up pretty badly today in an Enduro (darn trees) so I may give them a try with some guards this time. My friend did not have guards on his KTM either and felt they might be fine if better protected.

A guy I ride with has a set of $80 cheapies on his te450 husky, and they have survived some big crashes. He does have a set of force radiator guards though. The fins bend really easily.....

Thanks for the report. BTW, the aluminum fins bend easily on all of them.

I wish a quality company like Fluidyne made radiators for the KDX. I have Mylers radiators on mine and I had to send them back because the mounts were off by a mile. After several weeks of waiting and poor communication I got them back and they bolted up to the frame but the shroud mounts were off by a mile. Not wanting to deal with Mylers again and pay for shipping them back I made some brackets that connected the shrouds and radiators together. All good now but a PITA.

I bought a set, I haven't mounted them yet, but compared them to my stockers and they seem to match pretty well. They are oversized, thick and seem to be well built. They look very nice! So, I am, so far, happy with my purchase.

ok, I just looked at my purchase history and the rads that I bought for $45 + $20 shipping are now listed for $465, so I think I'm even happier with my purchase and might make my opinion mute.

Remember that using cheap parts is a hit-and-miss.

Can anybody recommend some good radiators guards for the KDX 200?
