Clarke 3.6 gal oversize gas tank

I was wondering how many here have oversized gas tanks? I think the KDX can use the larger fuel capacity and was thinking about the Clarke 3.6 gal natural tank. I have heard some say you can't get the spark plug out but heard many others say it doesn't have any effect on changing spark plugs. I also read there is a special tool these bikes have for changing spark plugs but not sure if it's not just the cheap tool that comes with the tool kit? I don't have the tool kit. I have a oversized Clarke tank on my 450 sport quad and it's nice to not have to worry about being the first one to run out of fuel.

i have the Clarke oversize tank and it is fiddly to get the plug out but not difficult ,
a special plug tool would defiantly help.

3.6 gallons is 13.6L. Isn't the stock tank something like 12L? Or is it 10?

One option would be to buy the NGK BR8ECM shorter plug or BR8ECMIX shorter plug.

I have a Clarke on my KDX. I do pull the bolts out of the tank to get more room when changing plugs. Instead of fiddling with it while the tank is on, I found that was faster for me. I don't really have any complaints about the tank. I've heard others say that their shrouds wouldn't line up with the threaded holes in the tank, mine seems to fit up nicely.

Stock tank is 2.9 gal. 0.7 gal increase is a fair amount of an increase. The Clarke on my 450R was a 3.9 gal and the stock was 3.1 gal and that made a huge difference. I never had to worry about being the one who runs out of fuel which was really nice.

Thank you two-stroke-brit and Tyl3r for the first hand info. Looks like I will be getting one since there are no big issues with the oversize Clarke tank. I am going to get the natural tank so I can see the fuel level without removing the gas cap.

It is pretty cool being able to see the fuel level just by looking at the bike lol

I have a Clarke tank on my '02 220 and I personally would recommend getting one if you are doing long rides. It really does make a difference over stock.

A Clarke 3.6 gal tank in natural is on my wish list for the winter project.

Just got a clear Acerbis for my 450F and agree that it's great to be able to see how much gas you have left.
