Adjusting forks on a 95

Post by Energy47 »

Hi,

I recently got a 95 200 and I'm not sure how to adjust the forks. It has a slotted screw at the top of each tube. Is this an adjuster? I read someones comments here about 10 clicks out being factory setting? Mine don't click. They are screwed all the way in. ???

95 should be first year H series There is a dampening adjuster on the bottom of each fork leg. There should be a rubber plug in the bottom of the fork leg, that you pry out with a small screwdriver to get to the adjuster screw. If the plug is gone there may be dirt caked in there you will have to clean out. 10 or 11 clicks out should be mid position as I believe there are 22 clicks total. There is no compression adjustment.

The screws on top of your forks are for bleeding air. After every ride unscrew them to bleed the air out or else your forks will become stiffer.

Just for clarification, the bottom adjuster is the compression adjuster. With stock KDX forks you have no rebound adjustment.
