shifting rough and oil looked like brass

Post by C George »

I changed the tranny oil and it looked like some brass specs in the catch pan.

Its been shifting rougher than usual.

Any Ideas ?

the clutch basket rides on a brass bushing. i believe that is the only place brass lives in this Transmission.

That can't be a common or normal wear item , can it ?

assuming the transmission isn't run with out oil, i would think it might last forever.

I'm thinking there may have been some all ready in the pan ,,,,,,, duh :(

If there's anything I'm anal about , it's good lubrication, these bikes always have 1 full qt. in the tranny.

Man ,, does that new 220 rip :) :) :)
