KDX's are new to me. I do not have a oem specs manual. This is my first ever post.
How do I know what rate fork springs are by looking at them?
What is standard fork oil brand, weight and height?
What is standard mounted fork position in triple clamp?
I am a Novice skill level, 5'-8" tall, and weigh 170 lbs + 20 lbs gear. I mostly ride in tight slippery hilly trails.
Thanks y'all!!!

Look on kawasaki.com to download the free owner's manual. It will show some info.

Go with some FRP .38 front springs . Well worth the money.
At first , you may think there a little too stiff , but after riding , you'll like how it keeps
the front of the bike up compared to the stock .35's
Very hard to tell whats in there now by looking at them . Not stamped like a rear spring.

You don't...they are not stamped. Stock springs are .35kg. Use the spring rate calculator at racetech's site to see what you should run. The stock front spring will be too soft for your weight, but the rear should be in the ball park (stock front end is undersprung compared to the rear)Joey17C25 wrote:KDX's are new to me. Kayaba 01 (KYB 5 wt)you can also use SAE5W20 per the user manual, or any 5wt fork oil, 100mm (as measured from the top of fully compressed tube to oil level)Joey17C25 wrote:What is standard fork oil brand, weight and height?
top of fork tube even with top of triple clamp.Joey17C25 wrote:What is standard mounted fork position in triple clamp?
If you haven't yet, invest in a torque wrench and a service manual, best money you can spend for your bike. You can get a lot of good info from the Users manual as well which is free at Kawasakis site --> http://www.kawasaki-techinfo.net/showOM ... ng_code=EN
