The rod on right side, that turns the gears inside jug for powervalve. Should i be able to turn the rod to see if powervalve is working? I tried and it wouldn't turn. Dunno if thats good or bad thing?

Nvm, fixed problem! Bog is now gone from bike too!

Excuse my choice of words, dont have a manual and not sure what each part is called.

But on left side, theres a big flat head screw that allows access to powervalve rod. Will underneath is a hole for a screw. Previous owner put wrong length screw in, and i tightend it down. Well it put pressure on rod gear and wouldnt allow it to open and close.

There is (if I am think of the same part as you) a spring and a ball with two washers on the hollow bolt that is supposed to be in there. But, that spring and ball is there to :hmm: delay :hmm: the opening of the power valve. So with out that spring and ball the bike will run fine but the power valve will come on lower in the rpm range making it feel more aggressive. If you want to get all the right parts it can be somewhat of a tuning aid. In lower traction conditions you are better off with the ball and spring in. But then again to each there own.

Glad you got it figured out. Look at a parts break down and you will see if we are talking about the same thing. You may also want to inspect the governor lever pin to make sure it didn't get bent. If search is working check "left hand nut" or "support the shaft".

Yes you are right. Those pieces are not there, lol!

I also dont think the power valves are timed correctly. The left side will be fully closed and the right will be 3/4 closed. When opend the left is 1/4 open and the right is fully opend, im not sure. But As of now, im going to ride the bike as is. This week im going to jet the bike to its exact needs. Im trying to find a trade for a Semi auto or full auto quad for the g/f so we can ride together.

Jetting is important. But, if the bike isn't running right (power valves not timed right) it will be a struggle to get things to participate as they should. And when the other issues get resolved the jetting will need to be re addressed.

If you have the patience you can get the valves re timed with the engine still in the bike. You just need to remove the head and re clock them. Also make sure they are in the right side. Some of the manual have them listed backward from where they should really be.

Well a little update on this bike. I am trying to sell and or trade it. Well i noticed a slight premix gas residue on block. Coming from base gasket. Me being the way i am, cannot allow someone to take a toy from me knowing it can go kaboom at anytime.

Engine is out and torn apart. Gotta order a new gasket set.

Piston, rings, cylinder are in good shape. Top end was redone by previous owner, im guessing they did not torque bolts down correctly. I myself haven't gotten around to getting a manual, would anyone happen to have a link for one online?

Got engine apart. Tool clutch cover off because it needs a new gasket.

Probing around, i found this down by drain plug. Previous owner told me a piece of powervalve broke so they rebuilt top end and fixed. Im guessing they only took top end off and didnt look for broken piece down below. Can anyone confirm what this piece is?

That looks to be the broken pin from the KIPS actuator arm that goes in the governor. With the clutch cove off already you should be able to compare it with the one that is there or see where it used to be if they never fixed it.

Nevermind, i see it! Went to bikebandit and compared. It is off lever. Awesome! Another part to order.

Thanks, i have all parts on order and waiting to come in. Gasket set i got off ebay, cylinder studs and lever thing i had local shop order.

I usually buy parts from bikebandit, but when i need 20$ worth of parts, i dont wanna pay $6 for shipping.
