Front rotor suggestions

Post by sodamninsane »

I'd use the search function... but it doesn't work.

Any suggestions for a front rotor? Any of the aftermarket ones any good?

Thanks!

if memory serves me well rocky mountain RV (dot com) has a good selection
I want to say ive heard of people using KX rotors but you need to drill out the mounting holes

(wait for a more knowledgeable member to chime in with exact years)

Front rotor suggestions

Yes you can use most KX rotors but you will need to drill out the mounting holes a bit. Not a big deal. I have been happiest with the stock rotor on my bike and I tend to be hard on the front brake. I tried what I think was an EBC for a KX and it seemed to not bite that good. It acted like it was glazed but I had sanded it down so that shouldn't have been the case.

When the time comes to get a new rotor I will make sure it is a floating rotor. They seem to work better.

Sounds like i'm goin with a stocker. thanks guys. I have been happy with the front brake but it may have gotten a little bent on my last ride... I'll try straightening it out.

Thanks!

I have a hybrid bike and I use Galfer rotors and pads on it and I can do stoppies with ease.
