Tahoe Riding

Post by KDX200Kev »

Where is a good place to ride in Tahoe? One where you can camp and ride from the camp area. I would appreciate any input. Thanks

I am bumping this in hope of some info. Supposed to ride here in two weeks
The object of life is not to cross the finish line safely, but to slide across sideways, battered and bleeding,
bike smoking and leaking, screaming "YEEHAWWW, Lets do it again!"

There is nothing to ride around there in two weeks. Everything is still under snow. All the ski resorts are open though, so maybe take in a run or two.

Closest your gonna get to some riding is in Nevada. Moon Rocks, Yerington and Pine Nuts are places over there. Do a search on those names over on Thumper Talk and you will get plenty of info.

Have fun camping this early in the season and bring a good heater!!

The problem with riding at Tahoe is, you really need a plate to hook up trails.
I've lived here most my life, there are some sweet trails. To get a 60 or 90 mile day in you have to have a plate. The Tahoe area is relatively small compared to other places, Idaho, Oregon, Washington,etc...

One of my favorite things to do is ride from my house (Alpine Forest) to Nevada (High Desert) and back in the same day.

The Desert has some awesome single track too!!!
