At least the KDX is still OK :-)

You would think that the day they release you from the hospital would be the
best day since the accident....but you'd be wrong! Gonna get this in quick,
down a pain pill and head off into *hopefully* an uninterrupted 2 hour nap
before a client conference call and SAP beta test at 2:45 EST.
Short version, my friend Brandon came up Friday night for what was to be a
blissful weekend-long riding fest with our combined families. Sometime after
dinner he wanted to try out the KDX (he is vertically challenged). After
watching a minute or so, I jumped on *his* chick bike (CRF-150F) and raced
across the yard. For reasons still unexplainable by eyewitnesses (none) or
equipment, the front brakes came to full lock in 3rd gear WO at the entrance
to turn 1 of my HS course and I augured in head first followed by my left
shoulder and the bike.
EMT was quick and efficient and I have been in the hospital under
observation but no further treatment since ~20:45 last Friday.
Damage:
Concussion (Level 3 out 5-6 minutes total)
Broken Left Clavicle
5 Broken Ribs (1,2,5,7 & 9 ) on Left Side
Helmet naturally will be pitched and rear fender on the bike was punctured
by the subframe. Rest of the bike was evidently spared by landing on
something soft....namely me. Swelling has greatly receded now and it is
freaky but kinda cool to actually feel the ribs and collar bone moving
freely under the skin as I rotate. Loritab, here I come.
