I think you guys underestimate the riding east of you. LBL is a beautiful place to ride as is a lot of other places. I don't recall ever not being able to ride because of not having the right sticker, fire season or getting sick because of a change in altitude. Heck... there is no registering a dirt bike if you don't wanna either.

Sure.... I want to go visit you guys out west but as far as offending me by not going to LBL..... Nah... freewill in all is what I believe in. I will enjoy my 5 day ride even if it is just Fuzzy, my brother Mike and me.

P.S... the plane tickets go either way too!

Ski... where's the IMS tank on your list? When that KX runs outta gas in 45 minutes you gonna run back and get some?

What KX? As you pointed out, no photos of ME with a KX yet. Perhaps it's all a hoax. Heck maybe Skipro is really Carvr's alter ego and doesn't really exist. After all, Carvr is the only one who's ever claimed to actually have seen me.

Tank size is 2.25 gallons; that should get me 40 miles I think; a morning ride then back to the staging area for lunch and refuel for another 40 miles in the afternoon; a typical weekend ride............out west anyway.

What's the KDX tank size? 2.9 gallons I think. That's only about a half gallon difference.

O.K., enough smack talk. I'll come out there. Get a bike ready for me and let me know what airport I need to fly into. Labor day, right? What day you want me to show up?

What do I need to bring; my riding gear, sleeping bag, and some cash?

Heck, if you have a second spare bike, I'll drag Carvr out with me. He can drive to Sacramento and meet me at the airport. So CC, if you read this, tell Jeff to hold off the barrel, you can pick it up in person! (I think Jeff's shop is somewhere out there, right?)

Nice monkey...nice monkey!

Capacity is only one side of the coin...the other is consumption. A KX 250 is going to consume a lot more fuel than the mild mannered KDX.... true? Somehow this has to be offset and the only solution I can see is a IMS tank.

Fuzzy has an extra bike he can lend ya... a KDX even! We can work out the details if your serious.... if your just talkin' smack again...then this is a waste of text...

Doug's KX500 burns just a tad more than my KDX, about 1/4 gallon per 40 mile ride, so I don't think, due to the technical nature of the trails (ave speed; 15mph or so) that the throttle is open enough to get into the fuel hogging region.

Yes, I'm serious. I made plans with Carvr to ride prospect, but if this is the only trip you guys are going to get together on, AND you are willing to chauffer, guide and loan me a bike, I'd be crazy not to take the offer up. My only concern is the airfare for specific dates and if they are still available at the cheap seat prices. I may be too late to book for the holiday.
We could make this an annual event; first year is East of Mississippi, next year West of Mississippi.

We were planning to get up there Memorial Day next year... if anything is open that is. And we will bring our bikes.... kinda used to their behavior!

I shouldn't loan out Fuzzy's bike without his knowledge and will talk to him about it. I don't know the LBL area that well to know of the closest airport but I can find out. I will post what I find tomorrow....

I still want to do LBL once a year and another "exotic" place too! I'd love to go to the motherland too.... Ohio! Land of the Penton and her offspring...Hodaka!

Cool! I really would love to come ride with everybody I've met on this site someday. I enjoyed CC's hospitality so much, and he doesn't much care for people in general, "Generally, people irritate the heck out of me. " were is exact words. The trips to see Brad has convinced me that riding with other KDX owners is about a dozen times better than just riding with anyone. The last trip was a trip of my life. An opportunity to ride the east? and with KDX owners too? I'm estatic!!!

Now about Memorial Day, I think Trev is going to try and see if he and his sweetie can make it to the USA about that time. Maybe we make that trip the west trip and you guys get to meet him? I think Doug will loan his KX500 for a day or two. It's got an autoclutch so it's very easy to ride. Just short shift it and keep the rpm's low. If Trev doesn't come out, then Memorial Day sounds fine to me. More time to really plan things out too with Labor Day just a few weekends away.

So find out what you can, we may be too late for this particular trip but if it works out well, and I bet it does, I'm guessing you guys will be getting together regularly and I would have more opportunities. Man, I am jazzed about this. I've never even thought about riding back east. I read about it in Trail Rider Magazine and all; the famous enduros like the Black Water and such. I look forward to the day, when ever the stars line up and we get a green light to go.

Oh, can I drive Fuzzies car too? I promise I won't loose your pink. Pretty please?

We can dream, can't we?

Nashville is a good flight: daily non-stop Sacramento to Nashville and back. A round trip leaving Sac Sept 1 and returning Sept 4 (Monday is all booked up) is $283.30 and that includes all security fees, taxes, etc.

Fuzzy, I know what you mean with the bike tore down. The KX is too. Don't sweat it. But if you are serious on letting me ride it, then next trip y'all plan better include moi.
I guess we are still on then, CC, for riding Prospect. That is, if you aren't offended by me almost ditching you for a better invite.

Trev: My wife is getting pretty jazzed about your plans. She's a great sport!

FYI: I grew up close to this area. On a farm in the Ozarks of southern Missouri that had a lead ore mine on it. All I really remember was it was south of Rolla, of hwy.63 near the national forest. Left there when I was 12 and my folks moved us to Californee.

Who knows Trev: If you are going to be here a while, maybe we sneak away to Nashville for little trail ride? Put yer grub steak on red or black and let that wheel roll!!!(a gambling term for roulette) Maybe we get lucky and double your money to finance a side trip to see all the boys back east when we hit the casinos at Tahoe. We could leave the wimmen to shop for the bride's trusoe (sp?) You are really serious about getting hitched in Vegas?!?

Yep, but, but it wasn't my idea. That was one of the conditions of entry. The time frame will become more apparent as time goes on. RE: Casino... I reckon with my gambling ability / experiences Mel and I could be swimming home.

I'll make mention of that when I meet Mel. More romantic words have never been spoken.

I never heard of, let alone met anyone who wanted to ride a dirtbike so much as to get hitched in order to make that happen. Ha!!! So, what are you giving the bride as a gift on your wedding night? The H model or and E? As Homer Simpson once said when he gave his wife, Marge a bowling ball for her birthday, " If you don't want it, I know someone who does!"
