As far as I can tell, I will be coming with up to 3 friends.

I've been looking through this thread and I am a little confused as I have never ridden in that area before. Can you guys clarify a few things for me?

1. Where exactly will we be riding? Which trail or trails specifically?

2. I will try to get out there on thurs night, but might not make it until fri. Is there any way to link up with those who are already there?

3. I keep a tent in my truck, will I be able to set it up where we will be? 2 of the guys that may come out with me don't like my idea of a tent and are looking at a hotel room, is that feasible given where we will be riding?

4. What's common practice to bring? How close is the nearest Walmart if I run low on anything? Can we get fuel near by? Any additions or suggestions would be great from some vets here.

I have been looking forward to this ride for 6 months now, I've got my KDX running great, and my hybrid has been out and thrashed hard twice. I can't wait. Thanks to all who put this together. I ride alone a lot, or just me and a bunch of quads. it will be great to ride with you guys.

1. The largest group of riders will be riding the Rockhouse and Bear Wallow trail systems and staying at the Devil's Anse in Gilbert,WV. Some other riders are staying at a nearby campground.
2. Sure. Come to Gilbert and stop at the log cabin house. We'll be in and around that building.
3. I don't recall any hotels in town. One time I stayed here http://www.chiefloganlodge.com/ and trailered to the trail heads. Very nice accommodations. Pool, hot tub, gym, breakfast, etc.
4. Dirtbike. :supz: There are convenience stores and gas stations around. There's a grocery store just a few miles down the road.

Bring all your riding gear, multiples of socks and shirts, tools, tubes, and if you can afford it: cables, chains; you know stuff that can break.

And the MOST IMPORTANT thing to bring is a spare MASTER LINK

Rjcapt - you guys live too close to us (Cincy) to not try to get together for a ride soon, maybe even before the June H&M trip!

There's four in our group . . . we're heading down to H&M on Wednesday June 6, otherwise we'd try to hook up with you for the ride down.

Sending a PM with some general details about local riding.

THREE MORE FREAKIN' WEEKS!!

Some food for thought . . .

most of the fuel there in the towns we'll be at contain ethanol, up to 15% I believe. I noticed it last year but I didn't hear anyone complain or have problems. Any issues? Just an FYI . . . I was thinking about bringing some ethanol treatment along. Thoughts or comments? Maybe there's no problems with the stuff and it's a mute point, cars run fine but I wonder about the bikes (especially if jetting is so-so).

I'll have my Knobby Knife for the tires. Cost for knobby sharpening service is only one cold beer per bike.

Due to unforeseen medical reasons, our group from WIS will not make it to WV this year.

Doctor says not to be more than 4hrs away from home. It would be at least 14hrs for us.

All have fun and be safe. Hopefully, next year. :please:

IT175, its a shame to not have you guys aboard, but next year is only 365 days out.

Jeb here in NY we have 10% ethanol at all pumps everywhere. 15% may cause trouble, I thought I remember reading one of my bike's manuals that state 10% maximum ethanol content. Do you guys have gas without ethanol where you live?

2 weeks now.

sped66...2001kdx.... Was really hoping to be there. The guys that I ride with are Twin bothers, who both have C F. And the one who (HAS) the issue, recieved a LUNG transplant in Feb of 2010. He was there last year in MAY :boogie: and had a great time. But with all the MEDS he needs to maintain his life with,... WELL things kinda pop up. I am HOPING for the best.

sped66 ... will PM you in the future. About something else. :supz:

Ok it175.

Looks like the Pocahontas system officially opened a few days ago.
A big surprise for me is that it is in fact already connected to the Indian Ridge system! Looks to only have 3 miles of singletrack though.
At any rate, my small band will most likely be exploring this new area on Saturday the 9th & having lunch in the town of Bramwell.

I'm out for this year.

My father was supposed to come down but he got into an car accident, he's doing fine just he can't ride a bike at this point, and I just can't swing the trip by myself this year, with a few other minor annoyances popping up this week.

There's a large list of those who aren't attending, we will need some pictures and some helmet cam footage if possible! :supz:
