Internal Carb O-ring?

Post by joe96 »

I am rebuilding and cleaning up my 96 KDX200 for the spring. I decided the carb looking dirty so i removed all the visible o-rings and washed it in a cleaner called Chem-dip. I was unaware there was an o-ring between the jet holder and the carb body itself. The o-ring swelled up and and fell apart. I cannot find ANY schematic showing the bottom of the carb, or that o-ring.

please, if anyone knows if that gasket is necessary or where i can find one reply.

Are you talking about the o-ring at the end of this thread?

Yes Sir! thats it, the jet block o-ring. I had to do ALOT of searching to even find out what the thing was, and even more searching to find a place that carried the thing. MXsouth carries them under part # 021-532. I ordered 2, thought i may never need the second set.

Im surprised i have never heard of this problem before?

Never went as far in the carb cleaning...These special screws ring a bell in my half brain.

Glad to see you found the part. Maybe I will need your second set someday
