I'm pretty sure I used Moose gaskets, this top end and the last

Never noticed any issues

im not saying you will have problems.........I just have to make sure the bikes i build last.........and moose makes 2 diff gaskets. if the compression is 210, anything over 210.......your pushing your luck, and i dont have very good luck!! like i said, you may get by. alot of it has to do with the bikes jetting, and elevation, and temp, humidity, and how you ride.......

Usable range for the E series is 119 to 185. Anything higher or lower can't be assumed to run well on the recommended fuels.

If it rips, and it sounds good, I wouldn't worry much about the compression reading. If you don't get any detonation running 87, then it should be fine to run that. Not quite adding up in my mind with 210psi, but hey. Stranger things have happened.

Are you checking it cold, or hot?

if he used the high compression gasket, it is thinner, therfore loweing the cylinder, therfore the piston is closer to the head, making the actual cc's on the head less.............in return making more compression......
add up now?
i dont think anyone should run 87 on a engine making 175psi or higher.....just my 2 cents..

also........119psi would be a dog.

Its for sure moose's high compression top end kit and yea the head and base gaskets were thin.

I'm checking the compression cold.its too late by the time I get off to fire it up I have a 17 month old daughter and the old lady would bitch.I just hooked up the gauge held the kill switch throttle wide open and gave like 5 kicks and it didn't spike any higher than 210psi.I had 195psi before the moose kit 15psi don't sound like much of a bump in compression to me.

As for the fuel I don't know where you live bro but I've yet to see a station in these parts that don't say 10% ethanol.the bike was tearing it up on the old railroad access road up the way from the house when I took it out and besides the exhaust note changing from the new pipe it sounded awesome.

I'm going to pissed if I just built a grenade!

you didnt build a grenade...........you just build a strong running motor that youll be happy with! i live in s.c........out in the country, and theres 2 stores right up the road, that sell non ethonol. hell, just ride it............you can run water if thats what will run in yalls bike..........dont bother me. im just telling my experiance on the matter. this is the facts, now YOU dicide.....

ethonol"alcohol" burns colder........but leaner!
it take 10%-20% MORE alcohol than gas to make the same power!
alcohol draws moisture, so dont leave it in you bike for a long time!
210psi or more........ I WOULD NOT run 87..........but, do you feel lucky?
all my bikes have over 220psi...{besides kdx}.......runs like a raped ape!

its all in the fuel and the setup...........i have 12.1 compression in my mustang drag car, and running 6 psi boost on that, with a 90 shot"only when needed  "...........motor has held up for 3 years now....but......i run straight 114 , and make one run and the temp spikes to 210 degrees.

I appreciate the advice this is my first kdx so I'm always open to suggestions and experience others have and think ill stear clear of 87 and use the 89.

Now I do call bull **** on a sbf under boost running (atleast for very long) of any kind running a 12:1 c/r.bro I've raced every year for over 10yrs and am ford certified and was a tech for years before and after the military and mustangs mostly have been my choice to build off of and have owned 27 different 79-93 fox bodies with countless engine combos and have yet to see one go that high with 6lbs and spray not spit the head gaskets constantly even o-ringed.what type of huffer you using and at those c/r's how often you putting head gaskets in it?also what type of heads you using?I run 1/8 what do you drag?
