dial a jet?too good to be true?

I was reading one of my atv rags at work tonight and seen an article on the dial a jet kits and thought that it sounded too good to be true.how far off from the truth am I?has anyone used this?

I've seen them used with good success on high-rpm applications (kart, jr dragster), but never run one personally to see what good or bad it does with the low-speed performance. In the woods I could care less if my main was a tad off as long as my pilot circuit is working crisply.
