Guts Racing Tall Seat Foam

I recently purchased tall seat foam from Guts Racing (800-342-1272). You can order it in soft, stock, or hard firmness. I ordered "stock" firmness, it shipped the next day and I received it in less than a week (CA to NC). I've got about 70 miles on it thus far and I like it. It's not as plush as the stocker but it is comfortable and it does make standing easier. And it doesn't feel like a 2x4! Price including shipping was $60.90. Good product!

I'll try to remember to take a picture tonight. I have a Factory Effex cover on it.

wanaride, how tall are you?

How much taller than stock is it?

Is the Factory Effex seat cover you put on for tall seat foam or just normal height seat foam?

Thanks.

I'm 6'2". The Factory Effex cover was listed as being suitable for both stock and tall foam. I got it from MX South as a combo deal: graphics kit + seat cover. The cover was $69.95 but I think the combo deal was about $120 for both. It was one of the only such deals I could find for a KDX. The installation at a local auto upholstery shop was $45.

"How much taller" is a good question. When measured at the "valley" of the seat (right before the tank), the "new" seat is only 1/4" taller, so that doesn't seem like a big deal. However, the seat definitely feels taller. I only measured before/after at one point on the seat so I can't comment on increased height elsewhere, but again, it does feel taller.

I wanted to try Guts because I had read that the Ceet foam felt like a 2x4. The Guts tall foam (stock firmness) doesn't feel like a couch, but it isn't uncomfortable either. Maybe the soft firmness would be more cushy...

As a side note, I purchased both foam and a seat cover from Guts. I actually like the stiff foam for shorter rides, mainly because I can move around in the saddle a bit better. The seat cover is the best gripper I have ever used, bar none. My 02
