KX 250 wheel?

Post by rbates9 »

Has any one tried to put a KX 250 rear wheel on an H series KDX? It looks close. The axle size is the same.

I just tried it and it fit right on. I had to use the wheel spacers from the KDX on the KX wheel, but other than that it fit right on. The sprocket and the disk lined up perfect. The tire that is on the rim is an almost new 110/90/19 and with the chain tight it has about 1/2" of room around the front of the tire near the swing arm.

Why?

19" rims have no place in the woods.

True, very true. But I have a KX wheel and for the ice it would be great to have a spare wheel to leave the screwed tire on. Also if the KX wheel fits the KDX, The KDX wheel will fit the KX with the KX spacers. So for all of the hybrid guys, they already have a spear wheel.

Maybe for you and me

A friend of mine prefers 19's

He was on team USA with Fredette back in '06

Everything has it's place. For me the 19 doesn't seem to have the side wall to run low pressure and not hit the rim.

I think the KX wheels will not fit from 2003 on. Larger diameter axle. I have tried, but had no luck. Tried to find different axle bearings that would work, but no good.
