Kips valves are removed, cylinder is bored to accept the sleeve, sleeve is pressed in, kips valves are re-installed. Bore size and kips valve clearance remains the same as stock.

Yes, you do have to bore the cylinder. To get a sleeve in a cylinder the hole in the cylinder must be large enough for the sleeve (O.D.) to slide in.

i think i can answer you question about boring for a sleeve........yes, you do have to overbore the cylinder for the sleeve........once the sleeve is in, then you bore to the size you want.............most are standard bore.

To install a sleeve in a cylinder that didn't come with one it needs to be bored. The sleeve may have an inner diameter the size of the stock piston but the cylinder was still bored.
