I pulled my forks so I can replace the oil/seals, pulled the pipe so I can clean and paint it (i can't afford a new one anytime soon), and pulled the carb so I clean and re-jet it. My back was really bothering me at this point so I only go the stuff taken off and then I had to quit. I want to pull the triples to check/grease those bearings, as well as pull the shock and swingarm to get those bearings. This bike shows signs of some neglect as far as maintenance goes so I figured now is a good to time to tear down and replace them if needed.

I realized today the snorkel has been removed from the airbox and it is jetted rich: 160 main, 48 pilot, and 1172 needle in middle slot. No wonder the plug was so grungy.

I bolted in the new skid plate then went out side and cried...

Yeah I am pretty much snowed in too. That's why I decided to fire up the garage furnace and mess with the bike some.

Pulled the carb and cleaned it. Dropped the needle to the 2nd clip from the top and pulled the pipe to do a cursory KIPS inspection then RTV afterwards which I forgot to do the last time and things were getting a little spoogy.

Eliminated most of the low end bog. Don't know if it was carb cleaning or needle drop that did the trick but she rips down low again.

My KDX hasn't moved since we got all of this snow. We are supposed to get some rain/wet snow tomorrow, so hopefully it will all pack down and refreeze so I can get back on the bike.

By the way, that S100 stuff works great for removing grime!

No maintenance today. Just a really tough A/B ride in San Manuel, AZ that kicked my ass. It was "C Rider Appreciation Day" and I was able to pit my bike and myself against some really challenging terrain. I did better than I expected. Found out I am "B" level in some areas but still "C" in others. Ended up going down twice, one of them pretty good, but me and the KDX pushed on and survived! My KDX never let me down! :supz:

Regreased all swingarm/linkage bearings
New rear brake pads (with EBCs instead of the ebay junk I had before)
Fixed tail light wiring/new bulb
Installed 1-piece top bar clamp from KX500

Most importantly....INSTALLED ICE TIRES!

Hopefully tonight I can get my new carb slide and stock jets installed, clean the air filter and I'll be ready to rip around the lake this weekend!
