Thanks! I have some other articles on my site related to trail bikes. I wanted to make a blog that was exciting, and informative. I plan on making a few videos on a 1991 KDX 200 that show the modding process with individual part reviews. Stay posted!

With my hybrid build I am only up to about $2,000.00 I can not find a KTM that is in any better shape for less than 2,500.00 - 3,000.00. Most people I know wanted to know "why don't you just buy a KTM" I could not explain it to them. Great article.

Well, you know how it is. It is easier to spend other peoples' money by talking about it. It sounds easier, but a KDX hybrid is much more unique, plus the ergos on the KDX Hybrid can't be beat. I think it will be fun when I run a few hare scrambles this spring on a modded E series and I pass a few of the more "expensive" bikes that people think we should just "go buy."

Thanks for the replies!

When I decided I wanted to sell my 125 and get a 200 for off-road I originally wanted a KTM. When I saw KTM200's as old as 2000 were still in the $2000+ price range and then I found my '03 KDX for $1000 it was a no brainer. I can make a lot of mods to personalize the KDX for me with that extra money, where as if I bought the KTM I would be stuck riding it stock for a couple years.

And that is the magic with the KDX!
