I really love the Maxxis SI. Works well even on hard pack yet really grips in the soft stuff. I have over 30 hours on mine and I'm just now getting ready to replace it.

Thanks for the input! I looked at the Maxxis SI and it looks like a great tire, and from what I read sounds like its a great woods tire. I have a 110 90x19 pirelli MXMS on the rear, I found an incredible deal and bought two. I got em for $35 a piece. Has anyone ever had a MXMS for the front? I want to get a really good front since it gets replaced 1 for every 4 or 5 rears. Thanks again for any opinions and input!

My KDX has the Bridgestone 404 - 403 combo - these seem pretty good.
My KTM has the Pirelli Scorpion XC mid soft tires front and rear - I love these tires.

Cheng ****... allot! Slickest tire you will ever put on a dirt bike. Crap rubber.. cracks quickly and wears immediately.
Stick with quality...

I used to be very faithful to the old Dunlop K-490 front tire, but they stopped making them, so I switched to the Pirelli MT-16 becasue it was DOT approved. It is a great do-it-all tire, and it grips and wears very well. I recently discarded my Michelin AC-10, which I *hated* (lasts forever, but grip is terrible) and installed a new IRC VE-35. The IRC is lasting well, and it grips well. I run a Bridgestone UHD tube, and the installation of the new front tire with the UHD tube immediately made a drastic difference in my bike's ability to suck up high speed rocks and roots. The VE-35 has very tall knobs, and a pretty stiff side wall. Good tire!

I have a Michelin M12 front (about the same as the S12 but the knobs on the side are straight not turned.). At first it was the best tire ever, and it still bites pretty good but with 1 summer of weekend ridding it seems to be wearing the side knobs off it? I will probably buy another one again but I just thought it would last a little longer. (Maybe that is why the S12 has the knobs turned?)

Ride hard in the rocks and it'll take the knobs off of the side of just about any tire. Picks them off like grapes around here.rbates9 wrote:I have a Michelin M12 front (about the same as the S12 but the knobs on the side are straight not turned.). chen **** +1! I made the mistake of buying one of those for my xr100 when I was a kid and it was terrible. All 9 hp really chewed that POS up. They are cheap tho! I run dunlop d756's front and rear but they don't produce them anymore. I wonder how this one does...http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/produ ... eAttr=1046
They mx51 is the tire that replaced the d756, so I may give them a shot next time.

I've not tried an MX51 yet myself, but have read mixed reviews on them. The obviously fatter profile works better in some conditions than the 756, and doesn't work as well in others. That's why I'm going with the B-stone 403, closest thing to the 756 profile and pattern that worked so well here in the Missouri rocks and roots.jbowens2401 wrote:chen **** +1! I have used both Maxxis IT and SI fronts here, didn't care for either.
