Clutch Dragging

Post by exbee »

I've noticed lately that it's hard to find neutral with the bike running and it wants to creep when in gear with the clutch pulled in all the way. What exactly is this a symptom of? Worn out clutch plates? Grooved basket? It seems to improve for a while with a fresh oil change but doesn't last long.
Thanks

If you are sure your cable is adjusted properly and not stretched, creeping is usually a sign of a grooved basket. If they aren't too deep you can draw file them out.

My clutch cable is only a year old and I've adjusted it as per the manual...guess it's time to take a look at the basket.

Or, if you have aftermarket "Heavy Duty" springs, they can cause this symptom.
