Kill Switch Stopped Working

Post by Ipaman »

Last week my kill switch stopped working all of a sudden. Since I just installed a Revloc Auto Clutch I really need a way to kill the bike. I removed the switch and tried touching the two wires together and that did nothing. Can someone give me some tips on how to diagnose this thing.

Edit: I am thinking it is something besides the switch. I took the switch apart and it is so simple that I don't see how it has failed. Plus, shouldn't the bike have died when I touched the two wires?

Does the headlight still work ??
If So check the Black w/white tracer back to the cdi box for an open.
Other wise check the ground side of the kill switch/headlight for an open.

Headlight still works.

I removed the tank and checked each connection all the way back to the air box. I then unscrewed the ground and checked it and it seemed to be fine. What else could it be? The black wire with the white stripe leads to a small black box by the air filter. Could that be the issue?

FIXED! The black wire with the stripe leads back to a relay or something back by the air filter. Mine was zip tied because my air box cover is removed. The zip tie had worn through the wire causing my kill switch and my tail light not to work.
