cracked gas tank
i bought a nos(10 years old)kawasaki 200/220 tank a year ago and have only rode it three times since then and it stays in a climate controlled garage.i was going to ride today and noticed cracks all the way around the last thread and on to the tank itself below the cap.i have an aluminum outlaw brand after market cap.i always keep it lightly tightened and am baffeled!has anyone else had this problem with an aluminum cap?also what is better a clark or ims tank as far as color match and fitting stock shrouds?thanks, jay$.

If you're concerned about color match just buy a black tank. Black and green looks good to me.
I've never had an IMS tank. They too darned expensive.
I have an older Clarke tank on a 2003 CR250 and everything fits perfectly.
I also have a brand new Clarke tank on a 2002 CR250. I had a heck of a time getting the plastics on with this tank.
I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to install an oversize tank on the KDX (if I do it will be black). The KDX comes with a pretty good size stock tank. The CRs come with a 2 gallon tank. The Clarke tank is 3.2 gallons. The KDX comes with a 2.9 gallon tank. The Clarke tank for it is 3.6 gallons. I'm thinking that 2.9 gallons may be enough on the KDX. 2 gallons was not enough for the CR250s though. Once I get done rebuilding the KDX and get a chance to ride it for more than just a few minutes I'll decide about the oversize tank. I haven't had the KDX long and have only ridden it a few minutes.
