OK, so went to the other extreme and retarded the timing to the maximum and actually like it better. Given the PC Platinum I pipe really gives it more of a motocross type hit, retarding the timing noticably reduces the hit. I can still lift the front end, just need to think about a bit more. If I were riding in a slippery slimey type riding, I think retarding is a better fit. Some day we'll actually get rain in Northern California and I'll get a chance to test that theory. Mind you this at sea level and things change in elevation, so that will be the tell tale sign. Still don't have the low end I want, but it seems to transition to the mid range smoother, like there is a bit of flywheel weight added.
