Crank movement

Hi all,

I'm doing my bottom end... again..(don't buy allball crank bearings !!! )
I wonder how freely the crank is supposed to move ??
I mean, is there supposed to have any resistance from both bearing and case squeezing it ? Or it should be moving as free as when it's out of the case ??

Thank you !!!

I say as freely as when it is out of the cases.
If you are asking I imagine you are suspecting something is not right.....

i bought SKF bearings and OE seals for mine.when you have the crankcases pressed together you are supposed to give both sides of the crank a sharp tap with a hammer.make sure you thread the corresponding nuts over the threads first,of course.

It should move as freely as when out of the case. Don't know if I'd blame allballs if your crank clearance was wrong last time.

I blame allball for poor quality bearings, they lasted only a season and half...(installed in winter 2008-2009)

I installed FAG bearings with TNT seals, now it seems ok after I tap the crank with an hammer on both side...

Thanks for your replys !!!!
