plug pictures

Post by jbowens2401 »

I just changed plugs to try out a br8eg b/c my brother in law left one in my bag for his rm 250. When, I first got the bike I did a few chops after jetting and the plugs looked good. I heard you can get an overall idea of your jetting by looking at a plug that's been in the bike for a while, so I just cut it down and wanted to get you guys opinion on how it looks. This plug has been in the bike for a few months and has about 300 miles on it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Can't tell much from that plug... a plug chop will tell you what you need to know but if that was only in there 3 months... I would say rich also....

After thinking about it, It's been since november when I did the rb mods. Sorry for the misinformation, it really doesn't seem like it's been that long ago. I will do a few fresh plug chops and see what I come up with. My current jetting is 150, 40, #3 and november thru march it was 152, 40, #4. Any additional thoughts are welcome.

Thanks for the help.

I have an rb modded stock carb on a 220. Ron sent it back with the 40 in there and a 38 as an alternate pj. Do you think I should go up to a 42?

Thanks,

John

40 is fine when it's hot.... cutting it tight when it starts cooling down. That said... I run a 42 around the clock.

Good call, I always fatten up my jetting when the temp drops below 50 or so (152, 40, #4 CEK). This winter I will take your advise and go 152,42, #4 CEK. Thanks for all the help...I would rather be a little rich than to lean.

Thanks again,

John
