fuel overflow from bowl

Post by 01twostrokingfun »

I took the carb off to clean the jets and check the float height. All looked good, sprayed carb cleaner and air through jets before reinstalling.

Carb was on table for a few weeks and was turned upside down, sideways, etc.. during that time. Could the float needle have come off the tab???

I'M puzzled as it was not doing this before taking it apart??

Plan on taking it apart tomorrow to check, but just looking for other input as well.

Did you figure it out yet?

How much fuel is overflowing? Is it just a slow trickle or a fast flow? Have you had the bike running since reassembly?

Unless damaged, it's not likely that the float needle came off the tab by handling on the table. I'd think most likely some grit is causing the needle to bind.

Flowing like a river. Is it possile to put the bowl cover on wrong and bind the float. I have not gotten the bike started yet, tried yesterday for first time on this new rebuild.
