I am

I am also. When I repacked the silencer it did stop, for about a half an hour. I'm just thinking that if the oil is meant to run at 53/1 and I have been running it at half of that, it might make a difference.

ethonol burns LEANER. it takes more acohol to make the same power as gas......... gas+alcohol=ethonol.

OK smartass... alcohol then.

It does have it's effect on a complete burn. Wibby... you also run Tolulene right?

so if pre mix ratio has nothing to do with spoog and the plug is good and power is good? Dose it still need jetting? :?

What exactly do you think Spoo is made of... oil? Fuel? a combination of both? Additives in the fuel possibly?

I thought I understood that the spooge was unburned fuel/oil mix getting caught in the silencer and cooling enough to get thick and tacky?
So to me it seems that if the oil ratio is to oily it would have a tendency to spooge more?

look down into your silencer.......... if its dry down past the silencer holes, then the silencer need repacking. if its wet all the way as far as you can see, then you need to change your jetting.

All this has been discussed to death. It's not like we come up with this stuff out of thin air. Tests have been run, jetting changes, fuel changes etc.... It is all available is a search. I am not going to argue about any of it. If it seems I am matter of factly it is because we have been there in the 8 years the site has been running. If you want to think I am a fool... so be it.

I don't think your a fool, But how lean should you go? And why is it that just about every one on here is running 40-50/1 instead of the 32/1? If it is all just jetting then why dosn't every one just jet there bikes to the 32/1?

Because it is not just jetting. None of these problems started until they started introducing alcohol into our fuel. Yes... you can repack your silencer but all that is doing is putting a new diaper on your bike. Once it becomes saturated... it will start spooing again. Not a fix at all...

Quality fuel seems to fix the issue.

Ok, but Quality fuel dose not exsist any more. So, why wouldn't cutting back on the oil and rejetting help?

Quality fuel does exist... you just have to seek it out. Less oil is not the fix... the fuel is the problem not the oil.

Here is where it is available in my state... your state is on the site too...

there's one or two places around here to still get ethanol free gas.

One thing to remember if you are going to start using alcohol free fuel is that the change is not going to happen over night if you don't change your packing before switching. It is one thing that is easily overlooked....

alcohol burns leaner.........but cooler, if jetted right. if you run 10% alcohol, {thats what most store sells} and your getting a lean condition on your bikes, and it doesnt seem to burn as clean as non-ethonol gas.

The cooler part is what is giving you spoo.... at least part of the reason. Jetting is very important and I have jetted to a knats ass and still had spoo....

Awesome - one of those stations is 5 miles from my house and I didn't know they sold actual gasoline. I will be using them.
