Magnetic Drain Plugs
I run magnetic drain plugs in some of my bikes and find that they do seem to pick-up quite a bit of small debris. I don't think I would extend an oil change based on having a magnetic plug, but I do feel they help keep the oil slightly cleaner. They almost look like a Chia pet when you pull them out! LOL
The KDX does not come with a magnetic plug, so I am going to install one at the next oil change. Just curious how many of you choose to run a magnetic plug in your KDX?

Good question, but......
Some clutch plates are steel, transmission gears are steel, etc.......
The bikes that I have installed magnetic drain plugs in, always have stuff on them when I change the oil.
In Inda's words........."Just sayin.............."

Maybe my theory is wrong, but I feel the more particles removed from the oil, the less wear on everything.hockeyboysomers wrote:I use a magnetic drain plug. I figure that it can't hurt.
I like the magnetic plugs and was just curious if others felt there was a true advantage by using them. Either way I am going to continue running them, but I love to get the input and thoughts of fellow riders.

Well... it COULD hurt.
Skipro3 had one break off in his pan I believe. The bolt is hollow to facilitate the magnet. Thereby weakening the bolt...
There are different types... so I would want to hold it in my hand before purchasing it ....
