When to re-pack silencer?

Post by terrapinjam99 »

When do I know that is time to re-pack my silencer ?? What are the signs to look for? Are there different types of packing ?

Take it apart and have a look at it. Is it full of oil/spooge?? Then it is time. All the major pipe manufacturers made repacks. I have found that FMF seems to be the cheapest price. Go to your pipe's web site and check the dimensions needed then go from there.

I usually repack when it starts dripping spoo out of every little crevice it can leak out of

For packing I buy a bag of Silent Sport. There's more than enough in one bag for 3 - 4 packings

Moose and MSR also sell it under their names
