Sticky clutch?

Post by Sapphire »

Does your clutch ever "stick"? I guess....maybe normaly when its pretty cold, like the first time I click her into gear, and not every time, but often enough, I"ll put the clutch in, click her into gear...then the clutch lever just goes limp and the clutch is stuck in... if I keep it in, then hit the shift lever into neutral and back to first, all is fine...

Maybe its the gearbox oil?? Clutch seems to perform perfectly other than those few times it does this....

Bike is an 06' stock 200...

Thanks!

This has also happened to my bike one time when I first got it. I tore the clutch apart inspected every thing and my friction bands were swollen and starting to deteriorate so I changed to a thinner oil and installed heavy duty springs to get all the life I could out of it and have not had the problem since.
Then I changed the clutch when I got some extra green now it performs flawlessly. Not saying that is your problem but, the gasket is cheap and a good inspection never hurt nothing.

Cool...

It is fairly sporadic....this weekend it didn't stick at all.

I'll take a look this winter!
