Touchy rear disc brake problem ?

Post by terrapinjam99 »

Is it normal for these bikes to have such "touchy" rear disc brakes ? What I am referring to is the fact that there is just no "easing into" the rear brake. Very short travel to the pedal and with any real pressure applied at all the rear wheel locks up. Its very hard for me to feather the rear brake, seams like its "all" or nothing. Are there any adjustments that will give more pedal travel? Or is just the nature of these brakes?
Thanks to all for any input. ( 2002 KDX 200 )

And here I thought I was the only one who set their brake pedal waaaay down. I'm almost out of travel (maybe a couple of turns left) and it works great, good feel/feedback for me.
And I'm another who uses the front brake quite a bit too.
