G'day All!
The rubber boots on my front forks (1997 KDX200), yep the lovely purple ones, are getting a bit long in the tooth and starting to perish.
I am going to remove them from the bike. Do I need to replace them or can I get away without them at all?
Alternately - If you were to take yours off, what would you repace them with???
(The bike is used for odd single track work but mainly to follow my young fella around the bush on his PW50)
Cheers & keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd probably get some new gators to replace those. They actually work really well to keep dirt and dust and slime out. Or you could replace the headlight with a suzuki number plate that has fork guards in it, or use those neoprene seal savers.
Number plate I'm talking about looks like this...
