It's time!

Seeing as I'm almost done with my fork conversion, and I have a crank seal leaking, it is time to rebuild the engine on my '90. I plan on getting RB to rebuild the crank with a Hot Rods rod kit and have him do his head mod at the same time. Will also be going with new piston, rings, and having the cylinder replated. Questions...

Where to pick up a top quality gasket set with seals? Are the Moose sets good?

Where is the best (price/service) place to get the bearings from? At Service Honda I'm looking at about $90+s/h for every bearing and bushing within the cases. I prefer factory Kawasaki bearings but as long as they are high quality bearings I would be happy.

Lastly, which case splitting tool works on the KDX engine and where to get it?

I can't wait to feel what a fresh engine is like! Thanks for any help you can provide!

1) dunno, I just buy the seals separate at the dealer. For the top end set I've used the Cometic kit. I hear the Tusk and Moose sets are good.

2)dunno, I bought from the dealer since I got a good discount there.

3) Tusk splitter should work. I got mine at Rocky Mountain.

Moose, cometic, athena, all fine

I bought crank bearings and seals as a kit, and just matched up the other bearings at a shop. Much cheaper

tusk splitter, or make one from a steering wheel puller

change the water pump seals, bearings, and maybe the shaft while you're in there.

also check all your tranny bearings and shift forks.

Go to a good bearing supply house with your old bearings in hand.

Just replaced the waterpump some weeks ago.

I plan on replacing every single bearing, bushing, and, if needed, thrust washer. I want to make sure everything is in perfect order before reassembling the cases.

Thanks for the answers everyone.
