KX rear suspension.....

Post by HRDROKN »

So I have everything needed to do my front fork conversion and was wondering if anyone has had any luck converting any of the KX rear suspension to the KDX.

It would be nice to get that extra inch in the rear also... rather than running the forks up in the tree.

Thoughts..... other than a hybrid

the kx is longer than the KDX shock. You'd have to mod the rear link and you'd probably end up with a messed up geometry.
Possible? probably worth it, not really imho.
Raising the fork in the triple is MUCH easier and is just fine...

The rear suspension on the KDX is actually quite nice. It's the crappy stock front that gives you an unbalanced ride, hence the desire for a fork swap.

I tried it, it won't work. Like juliend says, there ain't nothing wrong with the rear suspension of a KDX. Well, unless it just needs to be rebuilt and set up for weight and sag. A fine shock with plenty of adjustable range.
