Rear Brake issues...

Post by bmann »

Have a 89 e series rebuild I have been doing, and it is almost done. Two final issues left, bike bandit sold me a too short chain  , and I cant get the rear caliper on. Got new pads in, but there isnt even close to enough room to get the brake onto the disc. There is enough space between the pads, but lower mount will not move enough with out the disc hitting the inside edge of the outside pad. I made sure the piston was fully retracted. I would really love to hear any ideas you guys have.
thanks

You need to loosen the bleeder screw and push the actator all the way into the caliper then tighten bleeder screw atach caliper rhen bleed the brakes. Make sure when you push the actuator in the pads are off and out of the was as not to get brake fluid on them. And clean with brake cleaner.
