Ignition timing that is. I've tried all three, and I can't decide which I like best. I did notice with it retarted (stator turned counterclockwise) one degree, I had a bit more over rev, but I didn't notice that much of a loss on the bottom. Was it just me?
Where do you run your timing at, and why do you like it there? Thanks!

You are seeing what you're supposed to. I recommend stock (for the purposes of other on here keeping there mits off their static timing). The CDI takes care of the rest. You can hole a piston pretty easy messing with the timing. On the 220 your 'mod' may be a good one...to better match the crappy port timing in the cyl.

CDI in between stator/mag/pickup and coil. It can fire direct as if it's not there, or delay (retard), or advance. It's a fixed curve programmed in. For instance a retard occurs that's times with mechanical opening of the KIPS based off RPM of the incoming signal. Not sure what else really happens with the curve as you'd have to map it. The factory CDI could be replaced with a programmable MSD type unit, and then you'd have full control.
