Revloc Dyna Ring in Our Future!!

Post by dfeckel »

I just got off the phone with Allen at Revloc, and he says that he has a prototype Dyna Ring being tested in a KDX 220, and that we'll eventually have this as an auto clutch option!

I suppose my next question is how different are the clutches between the E and H series motors? I have an E. Allen seemed to think that the plates were interchangable, and were the same size as CRF 250 plates. Becuase of this, he was very optimistic that he would have a Dyna Ring option available for my bike "soon." Maybe by the end of summer?

I'm really excited about this. First, it's WAY cheaper than the EFM or other Revloc option. Second, you still get good clutch feel and 100% override at whatever rpm you like.

Hope it pans out soon...

Looks interesting. I like the idea of a completely drop-in unit and especially at that price.

Do the E and H series bikes share clutch parts? I'd love to add one of these to the '94 I'm building.
I have a Rekluse on my CR250R, I really like it.

I just compared parts numbers at Bikebandit, and the clutch plates are different part numbers between the E and the H. Different part numbers for the basket, too. The pressure plate assemblies are different, becuase the H series has only four springs and the E has five. Maybe there are more differences than I thought.

Hopefully Allen at Revloc knew what he was talking about when he thought an E series Dyna Ring would be available...

Indawoods, do you know the practical differences between the E and H clutches, especially as regards the plates?

I dunno. If any of you H series guys have a couple old crappy clutch plates laying around, send a couple my way and I'll find out!

How bout I send you some steel and friction plates from an E series clutch, and you can do us a comparison? Or if you want to do without some of yours for a few days, you can send them my way and I'll do some checking and post up the results.
