Big End Specs needed for ’83 air-cooled 250

Post by TheDktor »

With ref to my “new” bike:

Can anyone help with some specs for the big-end? There is no up and down play but side to side is quite loose but I have no idea what is normal.

Cheers for any help!

up and down play is what you're worried about there. Side to side is normal.

Yes I appreciate that, but normally there is a spec to measure how much the thrust washers and related contact areas are worn. Gives a good idea of how much use the big end has had....

Yeah, I don't know the specs for your bike, sorry. Service manual is necessary for these numbers. I would say if there is no up/down play in the rod it is ok to use.
