Bogging

Post by chriszeee »

Having troubles with bogging at WOT. The bike is a 220 completely stock with airbox lid removed at this time. I have cleaned the carb and it idols fine. and seams to run fine when gradually accelerating until the upper rpms hit then it boggs right out, almost feels like the choke is on or its starving for air. While this is happening the exhaust is very smokey. What do you think?

what size jets (main and pilot), what needle do you have? (I assume they are stock)
what altitude are you riding?

If it's all stock, you're probably running too rich, try smaller main.
Also make sure your jets are not plugged up, they may look clean but can be plugged out, use a fine wire to clean them (like a guitar string  )

A good starting point here:

good luck
