Spark Plug Question on KX65

Post by Mark W »

My son's KX656 wasn't sounding as good as it has - sounded like a fouled plug. I got the old plug out and it didn't look too bad. I looked at the type and it was an NGK B10EG. I looked at the manual and the bike calls for a BR10EG which I had in the garage. If I understnad correctly, the "R" means resistor plug but I don't know what this means to the bike.

I am certain that this is the original plug as it has a pink mark on it that usually signifies that the torque was done on the plug and checked at the factory.

Why would Kawaskai put in a B10Eg when the manual (service and owners) specify BR10EG?

Want to watch you kid improve quickly. Put him on the track with another kid on a similar KX65. Dad was a little worried with him zipping round the kids track and flying over the jumps. According to his Trailtech he hit 43 mph and rode 79 miles. Man that's a lot. Gave me a ride for my money. Shoudl have seen him and his two new found friends racing each other lap after lap. What a great day.

Hope you all had a chance to ride a little this weekend.

Hey Mark... there has been a lot of opinions about the resistor plug and whether it makes a difference or not. If it calls for one... that's what I put in. No sense in trying to reinvent the wheel. It may or may not hurt the CDI unit... but I am not taking any chances.... are you?

Glad you had a chance to get out this weekend.... so did I. I wish I woulda had some buddies to ride with and I woulda pushed the fold too! I love watching the little buggers having fun....

I rode all by myself and was climbing a hill , got off to the left side on a very steep part and stalled it. this wasn't so bad in itself but after I kicked it...it threw my weight to the right side of the bike and there was nothing there to step on for about 4 feet..... fortunately I caught myself somehow and got my weight back on the left hand side....almost had a very bad situation.... packed it up shortly after...
