I'd say Kawasaki, 'cept it appears to be missing the mounting tabs

Hey thanks for posting the pic! I tried to do that.

I bought this bike a few months ago and just today gave it the once, twice, three........times over. Thing is, there are no signs of the tabs ever being there in the first place. So I figured it's an aftermarket, but who knows.

It maybe had a wrap around strap that went up to one of those mounting points.
I imagine it will fall off pretty soon if you leave it like that. :supz:

If I were to toss out a WAG* I'd say it was made by ANSWER.

But that is just a guess on my part.

You are correct on both points!!

You can see a ring clamp on the right just where it meets the exhaust pipe, it was previously wrapped around the silencer.

It lasted 100 feet before it blew out in my back alley. It was an unmistakable sound from my youth when my 1977 YZ80 used to blow it can off. Ahhhhhhh..... Interesting to note that it WAS NOT that much louder. Which concerns me that I have 110 db bike on my hands.

I took it apart. It is comprised of a straight screen core and.....uh....nothing else. It sure doesn't look like the one in my shop manual. The packing is 96% Gonzo. I repacked it quickly with insulation just as an experiment to see if this thing is worth keeping. Didn't do squat.

Anyone have a stock one they want to part with?
