1993 kdx 200 oil?

Post by matt forstrom »

does anybody know or could reccommend what the best kind of oil to mix with my gas on my 1993 kdx 200? I figured since it is an older bike that I should mix my gas with the best oil brand to keep the engine running strong.

That's a can of worms.... but my recommendation is Amsoil Interceptor mixed at 40:1.

I jump around on oils. whatever I find at the time I need some

Currently running Redline @ 50:1 & 5% Toluene
But will be going back to Lucas as soon as I burn up the Redline

Nothing wrong with 32:1... you will just use more oil. Since it isn't cheap and oil is real high quality anymore.... we stretch it to 40:1 or even 50:1

I ran my CR and KDX at 50:1 for a bit with no problem, but switched to 40:1 mainly for the ease of mixing, plus a little more lubricant. Like Vince said, it's all in what you want to do.

If you waiting for snow to melt might as well tear into the motor and bearings and see what is what

yea I was definitely thinking about doing that. this is my first dirt bike. so I'm learning as I go as far as it goes to working on them. Ive had many street bikes and fixed many of them. so dirt bikes are a little different for me haha.
