When cold, running 10w-40 my bike would take off in gear even with the clutch pulled
That's why I stick to ATF. I use that Honda HP oil sometimes too, it works well and seems to hold up a bit longer than cheap ATF. I change my oil every 2 or 3 rides anyway regardless of what's in there.

Yeah, 3mos or every 3000miles for you guys, right? :wink: Really, on a 2T gearbox the only thing that gets in there is clutch material. It's not as important as a 4T gearbox/crankcase combo where it's lubing the gears and the entire motor and exposed to combustion chamber heat.

I use the Bel Ray 80w oil in all my bikes. It's the only oil I've used for years and I have never had a problem with it but it sure is getting spendy. I used to change the oil every other ride or so but it's so darned spendy when you have 4 bikes at a time to change. I find myself changing the oil only a couple times a summer now.

Guys;
What experience do you have with using the 15w40 Heavy duty for diesel motors? It is rated for use with wet clutches.

I've allways used 10w40 since that is what my car uses. I buy the 5 qt jug and my car uses up 4qts so that leaves 1 left over for my KDX.
