Reed Block Installation

Post by nearma12 »

This may be a dumb question, but which direction is the arrow on the reed block supposed to face? I just replaced my reeds and noticed the arrow on the block. It was facing down when I removed it, but who knows if the Previous Owner (Who appearantly doesn't know that you can maintain your own bike) put it in upside down at one time. My manual doesn't even mention anything about it.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention that I have a '91 KDX250. It is a different motor than the 200/220. My reed block is centered, not offset. It fits in both ways, but I think it is supposed to go in with the arrow down not sure though. Here is what mine looks like:

oh gotcha, that thing is huge. I have no literature available to me on that engine. Signature line is a great place to let everyone know the info on your bike so you dont have to write it each time with your question..
