Any Difference between E and H model 200 motors?

Post by hybridracing65 »

Is there any difference dimension wise between the 1994 and older motors vs the newer h models?
Thanks

Yeah, the cylinder and head are different. The KIPS assembly on the front of the H series takes up considerably more room, while the RH kips cover on the E series takes up more space there. The bottom ends are quite similar though. Nearly identical aside from the inner clutch cover.

Could an E motor fit in a H frame without too much craziness involved?

I've wondered this myself. I think an E series engine would fit an H frame without too much hassle, but I don't think you could go the other way around. Pure conjecture mind you, I haven't seen it done either way. The dimensions on the H cylinder look as if it would hit the E frame in the front. You wouldn't have this problem putting the E engine in the H bike though....
